John Ioannidis will read from his two most recently published books. All texts will be simultaneously projected side by side in English and Greek versions.

John Ioannidis is Professor of Medicine, of Epidemiology and Population Health, and (by courtesy) of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford where he is also teaching the COMPLIT208 course “The Cosmopolitan Introvert: Modern Greek Poetry and its Itinerants”. He has published 10 literary/poetry books (9 of them in Greek, one in English) and 3 of them have been finalists for the Anagnostis Best Book of the Year Award in Greece. He has also written libretti for 4 operas and his poetry has been set to music. He has received many awards and recognitions, including 6 honorary doctorates, and has been elected to many honorific societies, including the National Academy of Medicine, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and the Hellenic Authors’ Society.
